- Michigan House Democrats fill key campaign roles for 2020 cycle
- Maryli Secrest to serve as Executive Director
- Niko Turtulli to serve as Finance Director
Lansing, Mich., Nov. 8, 2019 – After a national search, Michigan House Democrats announce the hire of Maryli Secrest as the new Executive Director to the Caucus. Formerly, Secrest served as Deputy Executive Director to the Caucus. The role of Finance Director has also been filled, by Niko Turtulli, who joins the Caucus following his successful tenure as Finance Director for Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist during Governor Whitmer’s campaign.
“We’re thrilled to have Maryli serve as Executive Director,” said Democratic Leader Christine Greig. “She excelled in her deputy role, working closely with candidates across the state since early this cycle. As we gear up for 2020, there is no one better to have at the helm of our fight to take back the House. With her background in successful campaigning, and Niko’s experience raising millions with Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist and Governor Whitmer, we’re strongly positioned for a victorious 2020.”
“Maryli is a fierce and skilled campaigner,” echoed Campaigns Chair, Rep. Donna Lasinski. “Her Michigan roots coupled with her vast campaign experience and astute understanding of our state’s political landscape make her the ideal candidate for the job. We’re also very excited to have Niko on board. Last year, he helped raise over $13 million for Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist and Governor Whitmer’s race. He brings three cycles of Michigan campaign finance experience to the table, and will be a great asset in helping House Democrats continue to meet and exceed our fundraising goals.”
